THIS VIALAMP OF MINE, I'M GONNA LET IT SHINE
VIALAMP began in a college dorm room late in the evening of October 13, 2015. A student puzzled over finding a new project for his master class. He had to write a Regulation D, an SEC document to receive venture capital, and it was due in a week. He had finished almost sixty pages of the document, working on a different product, and a different business model, but there was one problem... The product prototype didn't work. He laid awake pondering a solution, irritated by a small vial of glow powder that was keeping him awake in his otherwise dark room. He raised his hand and saw a shadow cast on the wall. Even almost ten feet away, a vial no bigger than his thumb created enough light to cast a shadow on a wall. The young man thought of an old friend, a pastor who had told him about the deaf ministry he lead in Ghana, Africa. He had said that the most powerful thing over there was the vast darkness when the sun set. The young man sat up, picked up the small vial lamp, and an idea was born.
